Born in Toronto, Tasya moved to Vancouver as a child, and attended Concordia University in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.  She originally studied commerce in university, but soon fell in love with theatre. She spent a few years in New York, and Montréal pursuing modeling, but eventually returned back to Vancouver, B.C. to pursue her love for theatre and film, and splits her time between Mexico, Vancouver, and Los Angeles
